Starr was born on August 24, 1994, to Lahishia Carpenter and Marcellus Smith. She attended Raymond Elementary School and Health Careers Center High School and impressively earned her GED at the age of 16. Starr worked in various roles throughout her life, including as a Customer Service Representative, Home Health Aid, and Amazon Delivery Associate.

Starr was more spiritual than religious, deeply interested in astrology, art, nature, and positive vibes. She was the loving mother of Tahj, Airiss, Reigyn, Reighn, and Dai’Lani. Growing up, she was surrounded by a close-knit family, always getting into and out of trouble with her cousins and family members in a supportive village. Starr was known for encouraging happiness and joy in others, even when she struggled to find it herself.

She leaves behind an army of people who are ready to celebrate her life and continue to let her soul live through them. These include her children Tahj, Airiss, Reigyn, Reighn, and Dai’Lani; her lifelong partner, sister, and best friend Skky; her twin siblings Synii and Marcellus; and her younger sisters Marriah and Melanni. Her parents, Lahishia and Marcellus, cherish her memory and feel blessed to have brought such a beautiful soul into this world.

Starr is survived by her maternal grandparents, Paul and Denise, and her paternal grandparents, Terrance (Scooter) and Cheryl. Her aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends will always remember her dearly
