Stephen “Estaban” Arales Jr. was born September 29, 1933, in Portsmouth, Virginia to Estaban and Rosa Betance Arales (both deceased).
Stephen “Estaban” attended the Boys Town High School in Omaha, Nebraska where he went from being a troubled teen on the streets to becoming a responsible and productive member of society. He graduated and received his Diploma on June 10, 1951, at seventeen years of age. This organization has a strong history that has given hope to many at-risk children for over 100 years.
During his time there he served as an Altar boy and became a member of the school & Navy choir. This is probably where his love of music began.
He enlisted in the United States Navy on June 28, 1951, in Norfolk, Virginia where he served collectively for five years. During his time in the Navy, he served on two battle ships, USS Oriskany CVA 34 and USS Severn AO 61 during both Korean wars. Stephen “Estaban” became a skilled electrician while serving, skills that would pave the way to opening his own TV & Video repair business which he owned and operated for over 50 years.
In his early years he married Virginia (deceased) and to that union, Anita Marie (Norman),was created. He then moved to Cleveland, Ohio, and met Margaret Annette Jones, and they wed in 1963. They were inseparable and to this union, son Dominic and daughter Marietta (Kerry) were created. Together not only did they raise these three children, but he also took on the role of father to four daughters; Donna (Willie); Terry (Johnnie); Sandra (Rick); Tanya (Cal) and two sons; Louis (Karen); and Antonio. His legacy and by far his greatest contribution to this world is his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great – great grandchildren.
Stephen (Estaban) had many interests and hobbies, all included him interacting with people. He absolutely loved going fishing, boating, riding motorcycles, playing tennis, listening to all genres of music, dancing, playing cards, shooting pool, playing ping pong, and vacationing with his family. Every now and then, he loved the thrill of gambling, at casinos and in the streets of Cleveland.
