Stewart O’Neal was born on June 16, 1956, to Willie Lee O’Neal and Lorene O’Neal. He was the fifth of six children.
He was a lifetime resident of Akron, Ohio, where he attended South High School. There, he met and married Marlynn (“Beannie”) Weems O’Neal, and from that union was born Rashad D. Weems and Lovytta L. Moka Weems.
Stewart went on to pursue a career in sheet metal for many years, before being employed by the City of Akron, Department of Public Service.
He loved being with his family, spending time with his grandchildren, shopping, as well as watching and talking about sports with his son.
He was a devoted member of Providence Baptist Church, where he served in many ministries, including custodian, sound room technician, and yard and garden upkeep. He was a loyal Deacon and Deacon of Youth Ministry, where he created the “Best in Me” Award to honor their individual achievements.
Stewart was preceded in death by his father, Willie Lee O’Neal; brother, Lacie O’Neal; wife, Marlynn O’Neal; nephews, DeShawn L. Kimbrough and JuJuan D. Weems.
He leaves to cherish his memory his mother, Lorene (Sampson) O’Neal; children, Rashad D Weems and Lovytta Moka Weems; brothers, Lonnie (Thelma) O’Neal and Willie O’Neal; sisters, Nadis O’Neal and Stephanie Muhammad; grandchildren Jaiya Ray, Amauria Ray, KaMya Ray, Chanel Bryson-Green; special friend, Darlene Davis Elliott; the entire O’Neal and Weems Family; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends.
