Mrs. Susan Ann Lewis was born to Henrietta Branch Varner and James Bean on May 4, 1946, in Birmingham Alabama. She was educated in Birmingham public schools and attended Parker High school.

Susan confessed Christ at an early age. She relocated to Cleveland, Ohio in the late 1960’s, where she married and worked for Nestle Frozen Foods for over 30 years until she retired.

Susan was a great wife who took excellent care of her family and had pride in her home. She loved to work around her house and keeping her yard and grass in tack. She was an excellent mother as well as a grandmother by making sure they had what they needed.

She will be greatly missed, but she will continue to live in the hearts and minds of her family and friends. She was a good neighbor and always willing to give a helping hand. Susan brought joy to everyone that came into her life with her beautiful heart and personality.

Susan went from labor to reward on Wednesday, June 15, 2022, surrounded by love.

She is preceded in death by her (Son) Carlos Varner; (Parents) Henrietta Branch Varner and James Bean; (Brother) Murray Varner Jr.; (Sisters) Mary Lois McTerry (Louis McTerry) and Willie Mae Griffie (Ollie Griffie).

Susan leaves to cherish her sweet memories, her sisters, Carrie Avery and Edna Fay Varner; brother, Elijah. Huggins (Lillie Mae); sons, Jeffery Griffie (Janie), Damon Varner; daughters, Tamla Varner, Stephanie Varner and Debra Griffie; fifteen grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews as well as a host of other children that she has raised over the years.
