Susie Pearl (Holloway) Askew was called home on February 2,2025. Susie was born on July 9, 1934, to Florence Nightengale (Holloway) Ingram. Susie was raised in Camp Hill, Alabama with her cousins Rudine (Holloway) Smith, Joe Frank Holloway, Shirley Ann (Holloway) Walton, Morline (Holloway) Grant, Vernon Holloway, and Robert Holloway, as well as her siblings, Mary Dell Ingram, Will (Do Little) Ingram, Betty (Ingram) Ogletree, Leroy Ingram, Wheeler Ingram, Anthony Ingram, and Gurtha Rudd.
After graduating High School, Susie moved to Birmingham, AL. She met her future husband A.C. Askew while attending Sardis Baptist Church, they married on June 17, 1957. Along with A.C.’s mother they moved to Cleveland, Ohio where most of A.C.’s family resided. They went on to have two children, Aaron Cedric (Sharon) Askew and Iris Felecia Askew. Susie was employed by Cleveland Metropolitan General Hospital in the neonatal unit until she retired.
Susie is proceeded in death by her husband A.C. Askew, her mother Florence Ingram, 3 brothers Will, Leroy, and Anthony, and her sister Betty, and her nephew Cardell that she helped raise.
She will be missed by her children, grandson Aaron Curtis Askew II, nieces, nephews, cousins, godchildren Tammy (Ingram) Floyd Murice Ingram and friends.
Susie’s church life began Sardis Baptist Church in Camp Hill, AL and when she moved to Cleveland she joined Olivet Institutional Baptist Church.
