Susie Margaret Walker, age 87, of Akron, OH passed away on December 27th, 2021. Susie was born in Bullock County, AL on October 2, 1934, to Henry and Eula Mae Blue. Susie had a large family of 10 brothers and sisters.

Susie was a Christian with a strong faith. A member of her church for 50+ years, she originally attended Robert Street Church of God.  The church grew to later become Arlington Street Church of God, where Susie was a Deacon.  She loved her Reverend(s) Diana Swoope, Ronald Fowler, Sr. and Jr., her church and church family.  Susie worked as a meat wrapper for Acme Market, retiring after 35 years.  In typical Susie fashion, she couldn’t sit still so began sharing her heart and faith as a greeter at Stewart and Calhoun Funeral Home.  Her hobbies included gardening, cooking, and traveling.  She was known around the Akron area for her beautifully manicured yard and won the Beautification Watch Award of Akron multiple years. In her younger years, she loved playing basketball and dancing, especially with her brother, Junior. She was also an amazing speller. Susie was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Susie is preceded in death by her husband, Booker T. Walker of ­­­­Union Springs, AL; sister, Grace Tarber; brothers, Melvin Blue, Charles Blue, Walter Blue, Henry (Junior) Blue; and grandson, Peyton Walker.

She is survived by her children, Olivia Dennis, Rodney Walker, Kathi Walker and Derek (Stacy) Walker; her grandchildren, Neesha (Jeff) Feldman, Miesha Glover, Brandon Walker, Kace Walker, Nyles Walker, Xavier Walker, Serenity Walker, Broc Walker and Kai Walker; her great grandchildren, Bella Feldman, Hailey Feldman and Chase Feldman; and her sisters, Trudy Adeoye, Odessa Toliver, Helen Blue and Ethel (Tiny) Ponders.
