Sylvester Creel Jr. was born in Taylorsville, Mississippi on December 15, 1938, to Sylvester Sr. and Gettie Mae Creel.

Sylvester was married to Bonita Jakowski on June 8, 1991.

During his spare time, Sylvester enjoyed gardening, cooking, and spending time with family, friends, and loved ones. Sylvester was also a member of world’s largest Catholic family fraternal service organizations, the Knights of Columbus. He would put his faith into action by volunteering and participating in the community.

Preceded in death by Sylvester Creel Sr. (father), Gettie Mae Creel (mother), Henry Creel (brother), Gerald Creel (brother), Marvin Creel (brother), Darrell Creel (son) and Mark Creel (son).

Survived by Bonita Creel, his wife of 32 years, surviving children: Barbara Ann Creel, Derek Creel surviving siblings: Ellis Creel, Carolyn Franklin and Gloria Brooks and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

I met he and his wife while working at a dentist office in Parma and the both of them just stuck to me! Big hugs and love to you Bonnie! How the two of you have touched my life!

I know you both mostly by sight and a nod, but want to say how much Sylvester will be missed. He seemed gentle, yet strong, and was a fixture in church. I'm sorry for your loss.

Weeping shall endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning. My condolences to the family.

A wonderful soul is with our Lord. But oh how we will miss him. He was kind, loving, and attentive to all. Although he was called Junior I will always remember him as Sylvester. Bonnie, may you find peace at this difficult time. Bless you, Louise
