Sylvia Bonita Matin was born August 18, 1950 in Cleveland, Ohio. To the late Howard & Mildred Martin both deceased.

Sylvia attended Cleveland Public Schools & was a graduate of John F. Kennedy H.S. in 1968. She also attended the Word Church.

Sylvia began her career in the health care field in 1969 with over 40 years’ experience. She held various positions during her employment from File Clerk to Supervisor. She worked at Blue Cross Blue Shield for 30 years, Team Health in Akron, Ohio, Cleveland Clinic Marymount Hospital, University Hospital, & retired from Fairhill partners.

Sylvia gave birth to one son Andre (Sharon) B. Martin Sr.

Sylvia enjoyed playing cards & cooking, she was best known for her homemade rolls.

Sylvias treasured memories was sitting on her porch having cocktails while people watching.

Sylvia leaves behind one son, Andre (Sharon) B. Martin, Sr. 2 sisters Evelyn (Tootie) Martin & Pamela (Anthony) Cooper, 5 grandchildren Andre (Danielle) B. Martin Jr., Aaron D. Martin, Ayden Jemmison, Shanysha D. Luke & Jordyn D. Sledge 2 great grand daughters Gabriella Y. Martin & Ariana D. Martin.

To Andre and his entire family, I offer my deepest condolences. I grew up with your mom and your aunt Tootie. Your grandmother Mildred was very dear friends with my mother, and when they went to choir rehearsal at Antioch my brother and I would stay with your mom and Tootie. The last time I saw your mom was just before my mother died. Your grandmother had invited my mom and I over for Thanksgivings Dinner. Sylvia has always been a sweetheart and she had a smile that lit up the world. God has received her in His open arms and told her well done my good and faithful Servant.
