Brother Oscar 3X, Tahir Rasheed, Sr. passed away on Friday, January 26, 2024 at 11:15 P.M. at the Grande Pointe Nursing Home in Richmond Heights, Ohio.
Oscar Vernell Lynch, III was born on September 15, 1949 in Hamilton County, Chattanooga, Tennessee to his late parents, Hattie Mae Torain Lynch and Oscar Vernell Lynch, Jr. Oscar 3X was baptized at an early age and in his later years as an adult joined and received a letter of acceptance into the Nation of Islam on October of 1970 from The Honorable Elijah Muhammad.
He graduated from John F. Kennedy High School in June, 1968 and attended Central State University in Wilberforce, Ohio. He was employed as a school bus driver at Cleveland Municipal School District. He was also employed by the Ohio Bureau of Employment Services as an Employment Specialist. Lastly, he was employed as a Security Officer for the Cuyahoga County Sheriff’s and Protective Services Department, of which he retired in March of 2017.
His memory is cherished by his wife Gloria Brown Rasheed, three sons; Hasan, Tahir IV, and Kariem, daughter Nadirah, grandchildren; Thorn, Elijah, Xavier, Darius, Alliyah, and Yaseen, six great grandchildren, three sisters; Janice Turner, Gail Hall, and Kathie Adams, two brothers; Craig Lynch (Debbie) all of Cleveland, Ohio and Randy Lynch of San Diego, California, one brother in law Jerry Hall of Cleveland Ohio, and a host of nieces, nephews cousins, family and friends.
