Tamara Renee Johnson-Filmore was born May 1, 1974, in Cleveland, Ohio. Born to the parents of Vanessa Camp and (proceeded in death) Father Brandon Johnson, Father James Dowdell, and Algina Dowdell. In-Laws Lela Filmore and Walter Filmore.
Tammy attended John Adams High School. She received her high school equivalency as well as a college education. Tammy worked in the healthcare industry for 28 years, later advancing her career as a phlebotomist and specializing in pediatrics, which she loved dearly. Tammy’s last place of employment was at V.A. Hospital.
In 1994, Tammy married Glen Filmore (A.K.A. Inkey) and later had three beautiful children: Shaniqua, Glensasha, and Glen, and stepson Quadarell. Tammy and Glen have nine Grandchildren: Promise, Nazhee, Paris, Zoey, Corbin, Zoelle, Demetrius, Zionne, and Antonio Jr. Tammy loved to laugh and dance with her grandchildren. She has always expressed the joy and love she felt for them.
Tammy enjoyed everything about life. She loved to travel as she had been to many places. But her all-time favorite place to travel was Florida. Tammy loved to try new things and, because of this, she always stayed up-to-date on all the latest fashions. Tammy was a woman of class who loved to smell good with the finest perfumes, clothing, jewelry, and cars.
Shopping was one of her favorite activities and she loved doing so with her family. Line dancing was her thing with good R&B music and good vibes. She enjoyed the casino, alongside her husband, where she would partake in line dancing. Tammy loved everything about her family and home life surrounded by her husband, children, and grandchildren.
Tammy was well known for her famous “banana pudding” and having multiple group chats. Tammy was the type of person who values everyone she met, always leaving others feeling loved, understood, and appreciated. You could always count on Tammy to be there for you no matter what the situation may have been. She would always be there providing emotional support when you needed it the most. Tammy was a true inspiration. A woman of class, hope, faith, life, motivation, and love.
