Theda Mitchell passed away on January 28, 2019.
Theda Mitchell was born to the late Betty Jean Alexander and Benjamin Mitchell on December 3, 1965 in Columbia, South Carolina. At an early age, Theda moved to Cleveland. OH and later graduated from East High School in 1948. After graduating from East High School, she then went back and taught as a Teachers Aide.
Theda met Jesse Johnson later that year and together they parented five children. Theda would spend a lot of her time participating serving on the board of parents known as (PTA), volunteering and chaperoning her children’s field trips in school. She enjoyed raising her children, gathering with family and friends on special Holidays. Theda was a very small, but strong woman (at times with her husband she would move their entire home together). She was an outspoken woman who stood by what she believed in. Once she had her mind made up there was no changing it. She enjoyed holding long conservation with her family friends laughing and spreading knowledge of her life experiences. She had a laugh and smile that would light of the room.
Theda loved to spend time with family; especially her grandchildren. She was the life of the party.
Theda is preceded in death by two sisters, Glenda Mitchell and Geralyn Mitchell; three brothers, Benjamin, Tommy and Patrick Mitchell, Mother-in-Law Marjesto Johnson, Father-in-Law, Roy Berry, Sister-in-Law, Rosemary Carson, Brother-in-Law Emanuel Johnson, and Step-son Jessie Johnson. She is survived by five children, Derrick (Tenisha) Mitchell, Earl (Amber) Mitchell, Marjesto Mitchell, Carosa Mitchell and Tiffany Mitchell; nineteen grandchildren, whom she loved dearly and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
