Thee Arthurlus Baltimore Sr., passed away on February 10, 2024 in Ann Arbor, Michigan after a brief illness. His remarkable journey, spanning 86 years of life, was marked by love, devotion, and a profound impact on those around him. His journey began in Washington D.C., when he was born to Edward and Ethel Baltimore on July 28, 1937. Thee Arthurlus, more affectionately known as Arthur, spent his early years in the nation’s capital before eventually settling down in Cleveland, Ohio, and later Battle Creek, Michigan.
Arthur was a husband to Rochelle Baltimore (deceased), a loving father to his four children; Thee Arthurlus Baltimore Jr.; Sheron Baltimore; Tina Baltimore Holt; Jay Roy Baltimore (deceased) (Patricia Baltimore). He was a beacon of strength for his family and a pillar of support for his children, guiding them with wisdom and compassion as they navigated life’s challenges.
One of Arthur’s greatest joys was witnessing the expansion of his family across five generations. His legacy extends far beyond his immediate relatives, touching the lives of 5 grandchildren: Desiree M. Peters (Marvin); Christian D. McCoy (James); Tianna M.E. Clark (Chad); David D. Holt (Candice), and Robert E. Harris, 11 great-grandchildren, and also 1 great-great-granddaughter. Later in life he found love again and remarried twice. His second wife, Bernice (deceased), brought three stepchildren into the family. Arthur also had a brief third marriage to Maryanne Stokes. His dedication to family and his enduring love will continue to resonate for generations to come.
Arthur served his country with honor in the Air Force and worked for the United States Post Office. After his retirement, he found passion in the world of sports, spending many years working for the Cleveland Indians and being an avid supporter. He was also a real estate appraiser and provided tax preparation for many years, demonstrating his sharp intellect and keen attention to detail.
Beyond his professional pursuits, Arthur found joy in his hobbies, which included following baseball, tending to his garden, and connecting with loved ones on social media.
Though he may no longer be with us in body, Arthur’s spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered as a patriarch, devoted family man, and a loyal friend whose legacy will endure for eternity.
