Thelma and I met at Karamu House when we were teenagers. We both went to Ohio University (different times). We performed in two productions together (70's) and I directed her in a production of The Amen Corner in 2012. When I would come to Cleveland for a visit we would touch base... one time going Ice Skating (neither one of us could skate!) We would also catch up when she would visit NYC. I had the privilege of working with Thelma for several years at Cleveland Heights High school. Thelma worked tirelessly with the Heights school Gospel Choir to help them secure credit towards graduation. I was also very grateful she had a chance to share her skill at playing the harp in front of so many students.
