Thelma Louise (Owens) Addison was born March 7, 1927 in Unionsprings, AL to the late John G. and Mattie B. (Bickerstaff) Owens. She went home to be with the Lord March 25, 2018 surrounded by her family.
She attended school in Unionsprings. Thelma met and married Ozell Addison and they moved to Akron, Ohio.
She was a dedicated member of St. John C.M.E. Church where she served faithfully on the Usher Board as Secretary/Treasurer, sending cards to the sick and shut-in. She could be found almost every Sunday with her white uniform on ushering.
Thelma was employed by and retired from Midtown TV & Appliance as an Administrative Assistant. She loved watching all sports on TV, playing bingo, and enjoyed being outdoors.
She was the Matriarch of the family and her doors were always open to her family and her husband’s family, many of whom migrated from Unionsprings, AL. Thelma cooked many meals for family and friends, (and she was an EXCELLENT cook). Her home was the first home you would visit when you came to Akron.
