Thomas Anthony Darell Yarbrough Sr. lovingly known
as Tommy, was born in Cleveland Ohio on February 11th,
- He was the son of the late Eleanor Davis and Alfred
Yarbrough and was the youngest of seven children. His
siblings Sandra Johnson, Sharon Sweeney (Alan Sweeney),
Deborah Yarbrough Kent (Warren Kent), Michael
Yarbrough (Angie), and Cyhthelia Yarbrough survive him.
His brother Alfred Jr. preceded him in death.
Tommy graduated from John Hay High school in
- While in High School he met his wife Michelle
Spencer they were later united in matrimony, together they
raised two children Thomas Jr (Omea and Joshia) and
Demetrius Yarbrough (Shannon). Tommy worked for the
city of Cleveland for over 24 years before retiring due to
illness.
Tommy was a loving grandfather, uncle and godfather
to many, and he took pride in supporting his
grandchildren’s many ventures. His hobbies included
cooking, gardening, horse betting, spending time at the
internet café with his wife and friends, making people
laugh, stunting in his Benz, and bragging about his
grandkid’s accomplishments
Tommy entered a peaceful rest on Saturday January
31st, 2026, surrounded by loved ones. He leaves to cherish
his memory his siblings, two sons, Thomas Yarbrough Jr.
and Demetrius Yarbrough. His daughter in law Shannon,
along with his 12 grandchildren Thomas III (Malia), Layla,
Kaleha, Demetrius Jr, Aalanah, Sophia, Malcolm, Keenan,
Aaron, Aaliyah, Julian, Jason, and three God children
Rhondalynn, William, and Andre; an honorary son David who he
affectionately called number three and a special homies
Kent and Omea, special care giver Josiah, nieces, nephews,
guardian angel Maggie Brown, nurse Karina Santos
and a host of other relatives and friends.
