On Thursday, July 18, 2019, Thomas Ray “Tony” Price passed away at the age of 91.
Tony was born in Honoraville, Alabama to BL and Mattie Price on April 5, 1928. He was the second eldest of 12 children. He served in the United Stated Army for two years and bravely fought in the Korean War. Following his time in the Army, Tony worked several jobs before finding his place at Ford Motor Company. He worked at the Brookpark plant for 31 years.
Tony had a zeal for life. He loved traveling and spending time with loved ones. In the warmer months, you could catch him cruising in his drop-top Mustang. He also enjoyed working in the yard and sitting on his front porch. Tony was an avid card player and music lover. He also enjoyed his daytime television lineup including The Price is Right and Judge Judy. Tony was known for his one-liners, (“Hey you,” “Me too” and many others), quick wit, calm and cool demeanor and his kind and compassionate spirit.
Tony was preceded in death by his parents, BL and Mattie; siblings, Oneal, Robert, Frank and Lyvert; son, Kevin; daughter-in-law, Carol (Anthony) and grandson, Dillon (Nakia). He leaves to cherish his memory his children, Anthony Price, Theresa Price, Doreen Price of Maryland and Nakia Austin (Michael) of West Virginia; siblings, Mattie Belle Lewis of Ohio, Myra Riley of Ohio, Joel Price (Amy) of Michigan, Mariella Owens of Georgia, Vonita Price of Ohio, Almer Price of Ohio and Charles Price of Alabama; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; two great, great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
