Tina Marie White was born on January 9, 1957, in Cleveland, Ohio, to the loving union of Samuel and Izetta Halsey. From the very beginning, Tina possessed a gentle and loving spirit that would become one of the most beautiful hallmarks of her life.

Alongside her siblings, Samuel Halsey Jr. (Pink), Susan Jones, and Patrick Halsey Sr. (Cherlyl), and Mary Symth who proceeded her in death. Tina grew up surrounded by family and love. Her siblings describe her as a true “Mama’s girl,” a sweetheart, and a guiding light whose warmth had a way of making everyone around her feel loved.

Some of Tina’s fondest childhood memories were spent in the kitchen with her father. This began precious times cooking beside her dad that grew into an extraordinary gift for preparing delicious meals. Over the years, Tina’s cooking became one of the many ways she expressed her love, because it came from her hands and heart. Family and friends will remember gathering around the table and enjoying Tina’s famous spaghetti.

Tina developed a deep love for Jehovah through her study of the Bible. In 1977, she dedicated her life to Jehovah and became one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. Her faith was not simply something she professed—it was woven throughout the way she lived, loved, cared for her family, and treated others. Tina loved opportunities when she could be an auxiliary pioneer.

Her faith remained a source of comfort, strength, and guidance throughout her life.

Tina graduated from Glenville High School in 1975. It was there, in history class, that she met the young man who became the love of her life, Milton White. Their meeting would become the beginning of a beautiful love story spanning nearly five decades.

On April 15, 1978, Tina and Milton were united in marriage. Their union has often been described by those who witnessed it as a beautiful and enduring love story. Tina frequently expressed how much she cherished being married to Milton and was grateful to have a husband who served as a loving spiritual head of their family.

Together, Milton and Tina built a life centered around faith and love. Of all the beautiful roles Tina held throughout her life, family was among her greatest joys. Milton and Tina were blessed with three children: Tinisha (Marques), Jevael (Heather), and Rachel, who preceded her in death. Tina loved her children deeply and devoted herself to caring for her family. Her love continued to grow through her four beautiful granddaughters, Brooklynn (Montaye), Jada, Peyton, and Jordyn, and her two handsome great-grandsons, Dallas and Denver; and her dear Snoopy. They were treasured pieces of her heart.

When Tina married Milton, she gained additional family who embraced and loved her as their own. She became a cherished daughter-in-law to Eddie Boston, who preceded her in death, and Louise Boston, who lovingly described Tina not merely as a daughter-in-law, but as her daughter—someone who blended beautifully and naturally into their family.

Tina also shared this extended family bond with Jimmie White (Bobbie), Gail White, who preceded her in death, Mildred Bullard (Keith), Carolyn Boston who preceded her in death, Anthony Boston and Kanesha White.

Tina had a special gift for caring for children. Her love for little ones inspired her to open her own daycare business. Tina did not view caring for children as a job—it was a joy and an extension of who she was. Tina was often described as a daycare provider who displayed patience, kindness, guidance, and tenderness.

Tina leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, spiritual brothers and sisters, and dear friends who loved her deeply and remained by her side through her final days.

Though Tina will be deeply missed, her family finds comfort in the Bible’s beautiful promise of the resurrection and the hope of seeing their beloved Tina again. Our memory and love for Tina will remain precious until the day we welcome her back.
