Tracy was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on July 24, 1959, to Doris Thornton Gray (preceded in death) and Ernest Gray (preceded in death). She attended Cleveland Public School system, and for a brief period, Twinsburg School system with grandmother, Willa (a.k.a. Kate).
Tracy was the only child, but due to family dynamics, she was taken in by her cousin, Delores, for some time and grew up with Candi (sister/cuz) and Cookie.
Tracy met Joe Johnson as a teen and they moved in together with her son, Kevin. That’s when she met Boo, her then landlord whom became her godmother. Boo remained close to the family for 40 years. Tracy was a stay-at-home mom as she began to raise sons, Kevin and Greg. When she did enter the workforce, she held jobs such as security and housekeeping until she landed upon K&M International, where she worked as Customer Service to the trade. It afforded her the opportunity to travel doing trade shows. She was dedicated and loved this job until her health problems started to increase.
Tracy met her love, her husband, Barry Sweeney in 1989. She gained two more sons, Barry Jr. and Jason. Together they had a beautiful human/dog named Nate. They also gained one daughter in love, Tamika. Tracy and Barry did everything together for 34 years. Words cannot express the patience and love they had for one another. They rededicated their lives to Christ in 2006. When attending church was not feasible, they had morning Bible study together.
What did she enjoy? Family! Family! Family! cooking, playing cards (Bid Whist, Spades, Tunk). She also enjoyed Dominoes, bowling and SHOPPING. She loved to dress and never left the house unkempt.
Tracy Gray-Sweeney leaves to mourn, husband, Barry; sons, Kevin (Tamika), Greg, Barry Jr., and Jason; 6 beautiful grandkids, Tiarra, Sierra, Andrea, A’Drieana, Breonna and Darius; 3 great grands, Isaiah, Kai’Bri and Na-sigh; two stepchildren, Jessica and Steven. She also leaves a host of family members and friends.
