Tyrell Jerome Ashford, Sr. was born on June 05, 1993, to Tyrone and Sherry (Zykia) Ashford. He was a former student at Education Alternatives and there earned many accolades, including Student of the Year, voted by students one year and voted by teachers the following year. He was also involved in chess club, student council, football, band and art. He started his fitness journey at 14 years old at Fit Challenge, achieving phase 4 status rapidly.
Tyrell was a devoted Cleveland Browns fan and would attend games with his brothers. He was also a Cleveland Cavaliers fan and was a vehement supporter of LeBron James and was willing to debate anyone who disagreed with him. Tyrell also loved his video games; his favorites were Madden, 2K and Smash Bros. Recently, he picked up riding scooters and could be seen zipping up and down the streets. On occasion, he would write poetry to set to music and has recorded several tracks.
Tyrell started a sneaker resale business called Sneakgeekgods. This business had been a dream of Tyrell’s for years and he finally made it happen. Sneakgeekgods was very popular, and he participated in the Sneaker trade shows. He amassed a vast collection of hard-to-find sneakers and credits his brothers for starting his love of sneakers, especially Air Jordans. His favorite Air Jordans were number 7 and he loved manycoloredways.
Tyrell loved spending time with his friends. He was always available to talk and was a good listener. His friends knew he could be counted on as being supportive and they knew he could be counted on to keep their confidence. Many of Tyrell’s friends were lifelong friends and that made them more like family. He had a giving heart and would give his friend his last if necessary.
He worked at Bob Evans starting as a buster moving to a host, then server up to grill cook. He worked for Sherwood Distributers as a picker. He also worked for Interdesign as a picker. His co-workers and employers always had good things to say of Tyrell and he had a positive impact on any company he was with.
Tyrell leaves to mourn his father, Tyrone Ashford (LaTasha) and his mother Zykia Green. His siblings Carolyn Ashford (Ricco), Tyrone Ashford Jr. (Angelique), Tyrese Ashford and Brielle Ashford. He had two children by Chelsea Quinones, Tyrell Ashford Jr. and his daughter Isabella Ashford who preceded him in death. His grandmothers Bobbie Green and Lucille Richardson (preceded in death) and Carolyn Ashford (preceded in death). His grandfathers Jimmie Fred Ashford (Gloria) (preceded in death) and Jerome Green (preceded in death). His great-aunts Brenda Perkins (Reginald Perkins), Margie Smith; aunts Shelia Carter and Rhonda Wimberley; great-uncles James Martin Jr. and Paul Ashford and uncles, William Blackmon (Heather), Terance Ashford, Leon Morton, Omar Green (Dominique) Jerome Green Jr (Mykia), Marcus Green (preceded in death). His niece Taylor Ashford, his nephew Ricco Starks, Jr. and a host of other relatives and friends.
