Tyrone Hipps Jr. (Salahudin Assalifie), a beloved son, brother, nephew, uncle and father born to Tyrone Hipps Sr. and Katrina Rogers on April 28, 1991, in Cleveland, Ohio. He lost his life at the tender age of 32 years old to senseless gun violence on Saturday, January 27, 2024.
Tyrone attended Wade Park Elementary School, Wilson Junior High School followed by John Marshall High School. During his early years, Tyrone found great joy in both art and science at school, immersing himself in the STEM program. Tyrone had a deep passion for the arts, finding solace and self-expression through drawing, writing rap lyrics, and loved reading to expand his knowledge in various aspects of life especially regarding his Muslim faith.
His creative endeavors were a testament to his vibrant spirit and his desire to explore the world around him. His free-spirited nature shone through as he delighted in cracking jokes and bringing laughter to those around him. With his cool and laid-back demeanor, Tyrone effortlessly charmed those he encountered.
Determined to redirect his path after encountering several setbacks early on in life that deterred him from truly walking a straight path, he embarked on a quest to become a better man, driven by a deep-rooted desire to be an exceptional father to his beloved children. He began a career in the security profession in 2022 and was really enjoying it and prior to his death he obtained his security guard license and was extremely overjoyed about his great accomplishment.
In the face of life’s challenges, Tyrone made a profound decision to embrace the Muslim faith, seeking a transformative journey towards personal growth and positive change. Tyrone’s faith played a significant role in his life, and he embraced his spiritual journey with sincerity and dedication. He found strength and fulfillment in his beliefs, striving to live a life of righteousness and integrity.
Preceded in death by his grandmothers Patricia A Bady, and Shirely Y Hipps and his grandfathers William L Moore and Gordon Lee Alexander. Tyrone leaves behind a legacy of love and family. He is survived by his mother, Katrina Rogers, ( Montez ) and his father, Tyrone Hipps Sr. ( Nina ) He will be deeply missed by his children, Ty’ion Hipps, Taw’hid Hipps, and Khalani Hipps who brought immense joy to his life. Tyrone is also remembered by his siblings, Kaleisha Moore, Vernon Terry Jr (Preceded in death) Durrail Moore, Shakail Moore, Lathiya Moore, Patricia Hipps and Damiyas Hicks. His stepbrothers Jovan Payne and Raymell Payne and his stepsister Brittany Payne. His memory will also be cherished by his extended family, including his aunt Tabitha Lewis (Jerome) and uncles Kenny Moore and Kerry Moore. He will be fondly remembered by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and girlfriend Demetriana Compton along with a host of other friends.
Tyrone was the true definition of a protector and made sure he did whatever it took to provide and protect those he loved. Tyrone Hipps Jr. will forever be remembered for his artistic spirit, his love for his family, friends and his commitment to personal growth. May his memory continue to inspire and guide us all.
