Vera Fuller, 75, a beloved sister, mother, grandmother and auntie was born April 29, 1944 to the late William and Emma D. Jones in Hazelhurst, Mississippi.
Vera was a member of Mt. Lebanon for many years where she sang in the choir. She attended Central Hower School, where she was a member of the basketball team and was always remembered for her half-court game winning shot. She worked various jobs. She was a foster parent to many medically fragile children. She passionately worked as a care giver to the elderly until she retired.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Harold Fuller, and sisters, Geraldine Ware, Bertha Singletary; brother, William Jones Jr.; and her daughter Emma Shields.
Vera leaves to mourn her passing, her sons and daughters; Donovan Powers, Towanda (Terrence) Brooks, and Reginald Powers, all of Las Vegas, NV., Carl (Angie) Powers of Akron, OH, and Brittney Powers of Columbus, OH; Grandson, David Powers; 3 step children; Phyllis, Mike, and Billy; Sisters Therell Davis of Mississippi, Byrdine Coleman, Faye Hood; Brother, Soloman (Ramona) Jones; and 15 grandchildren 13 great-grandchildren; Special friends, Delores Robinson, Ikie Heard, and lifetime friend Sandy McMullen; Special niece Ruby Coleman; and Special Daughter Debra and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
