Wanda Jean Williams Bolt was born in Akron, Ohio, on April 12, 1961, to the late Floyd L. Williams and Jacquin L. Williams.
Wanda joined Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church at an early age. She was a member of the Sunbeam Choir and the Youth Choir in her younger years. In her adult years, she joined the JMBC Choir Ministry and sang in the Gospel Meets Symphony Community Choir. She reorganized and was the Director of the JMBC Children’s Ministry and took them on many fun trips while she was a director. She used her catering skills to work on many of the church’s special events and was famous for her mac and cheese and salad bars.
Wanda attended Akron Public Schools, graduating from Buchtel High School. She also attended the University of Akron for one year before relocating to Atlanta, Georgia. She met the love of her life, Vernon Bolt, while residing in Atlanta. When she relocated back to Akron, he soon followed, and they were married on August 26 of 2017.
Wanda was preceded in death by her father.
She leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Vernon Bolt; her sons, Isaac D. Williams of Akron, OH, Joseph A. Anthony of Atlanta, GA, and Jovante R. Williams of Akron, OH; mother, Jackie L. Williams of Akron, OH; sister, Carol (Richard) Goodrum of Akron, OH; brother, Michael A. Williams of Uniontown, OH; granddaughters, Aliyah, Alyssa, and Alahna Williams of Akron, OH; and beloved grandson, Jody A. Anthony of Atlanta, GA; mother-in-law, Frances Bolt Strickland; sisters-in-law, Elitha Johnson, Chandra Bolt, Audrey Bolt, Amorette Jones, and Paris Bolt all of Atlanta, GA, and Jovita Williams of Charlotte, NC; special aunt, Evelyn C. Reynolds of Atlanta GA; niece, Candis (Anthony) Martin; nephew, Michael Williams; special nephew, Marcus (Rockhead) Griffin; the Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church Family, and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
