Willanna Luckett, age 87, departed this earth on August 11, 2022. She was born in Uniontown, Alabama on February 6, 1935, to the late Tommie Allen and Mary Cook.
She graduated in 1953 from A.H. Parker High School in Birmingham, Alabama, and after graduating she moved to Akron, Ohio. She was employed by Akron Towel Supply, B.F. Goodrich, O’Neil’s Department Store and retired from Akron General Hospital in 1999.
She was an active member of New Trinity Missionary Baptist Church. She was a faithful greeter and gave hugs to everyone that graced the door.
She loved cooking, music, dancing, gardening, planting flowers, going to the casino, and most of all she loved her family.
She is preceded in death by her late husband, Nace Luckett; son, Johnnie D. Luckett; sister and brother-in-law, Lucretia and Charles Thornton.
WiIIanna leaves to cherish her memories, her loving and devoted daughters, Kyren D. Luckett and Yvette D. Luckett; loving grandson, Shane L. Foster; nephew, Ronald (Carmilla) Thornton; niece, Sheila C. Thornton; great-nephews, Ronald (Erika) Thornton Jr., Christopher Thornton, and Jaedon Thornton; god-daughters, LaTonya (Ernest) Brisco-Thompson and Gwen (Kevin) Simpson; special cousin, Roseanne Smith; special friends, Mary Cooper, Helen Managan, Mary Newby, Loretta Brown, and Loretta Moore; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
