William Aaron Smith, Jr. aka “Mickey”, “Diamond”, “Diamond Mick”, “Smulligan”, “Smitty”, and “Rap/Rappy”, was born May 15, 1938 in Akron, OH to Essie Scott and William A. William Aaron Smith, Jr. aka “Mickey”, “Diamond”, “Diamond Mick”, “Smulligan”, “Smitty”, and “Rap/Rappy”, was born May 15, 1938 in Akron, OH to Essie Scott and William A. Smith, Sr. He went home to be with our Heavenly Father January 16, 2018. He attended Akron Public Schools and graduated from West High School. He served in the United States Army for 3 years stationed in Hawaii, and was honorably discharged. He was employed by Miracle Mart and worked 31 years at the Chrysler Twinsburg Stamping Plant.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William (Essie) Smith, Sr.; grandparents, Willie and Fannie Smith, Gertrude Scott Batton and Aaron Scott.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 46 years, Beverly Peoples-Smith; sons, Michael (Michelle) Sales, Paul (Bonnie) Watson, Sr., William Futch, Clark (Rosa) Smith, Marcus Murphy, Damund (Bernice) Smith, and Walter Smith; daughters, Tawana Sales, Monica Smith, Shakunda Murphy, and Mikki (Otis) Smith-Edwards; sister, Katherine Smith-Jones; grandchildren and great-grandchildren; lifetime friends, George Vinson, Jr and Caswell Pearson (deceased), Ben Hatch (deceased); and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
