A Life To Be Remembered……
As the noonday hours commenced on Sunday, May 13, 2018, at 2:00 pm the angel of obedience swayed through the corridors of Summa, City Hospital and entered the room of Preston Henderson.
In the twilight of a second, He slipped an invitation under his pillow; the golden inscription immediately illuminated in holiness revealing its contents:
“Preston Henderson the Magistrate of Grace and Mercy has requested your presence in the New Jerusalem. You will enter into the realm of unimaginable joy and perpetual care and see Jesus face to face.”
William Edward “Preston” Henderson was born to the late William “Maine” Henderson and Cylla Hailstock-Henderson.
Preston was a devoted life member of the Mt. Haven Missionary Baptist Church and he truly loved Jesus; while praising, running laps at church.
He attended the now defunct Weaver School from nursery school and graduated from Weaver High School in 1988, then to the Weaver Workshop. He also attended The Abundant Works and Hattie Larlham Constant Companions in Stow, Ohio.
He was preceded in death by his father, grandparents, William & Adeil Henderson and Edward & Charlotte Hailstock and several uncles and aunts.
Preston leaves to cherish his memories a loving mother; Cylla Hailstock-Henderson, a devoted sister; Min. Meredythe “Shugg” Henderson, loving nephew and niece; Marcus and LaChelle Henderson; great nephews and nieces; Marc II, J’Miyah, Kaleiya, Cammille, Breden & Kkaisen; uncle, Cleo (Sheila) Henderson, aunts; Ramona Fitzgerald, Carlean (Willie) Scott and Katie (Benny) Hamilton; his loving god brothers, Melvin Kirksey of Mesa, Arizona & Clayton Kirksey; god sister, LaAnna Kirskey, of Mesa, Arizona loving health aides, Jerome “Rome” Nance, Tamera “Mera” Brunson and Tia Davis and many other family and friends.
