William Henry Lewis, II, aka “50 Cent Slim,” passed away Friday, March 23, 2018. He was born on April 26, 1927, to the late William H. Lewis and Gladys Harris.
William worked and retired from Firestone Tire and Rubber Company. He served four years in the United States Army and was honorably discharged. While in the army he became interested in
boxing, ultimately becoming a Light Heavyweight Champion. Upon leaving the military, he boxed as a professional for several years and was inducted into the Summit County Boxing Hall of Fame. William was an avid roller skater, and in his spare time, he loved walking, working in the yard and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. William was preceded in death by his wife Barbara E. Lewis, his parents, his twin brother Robert Lewis, and his sons William H. Lewis, III, and Charles Andrew Lewis.
He leaves to cherish his memory his children, Brenda Lewis, King (Dr. Jolene Lane) Lewis, Jeanette Lewis, Joan A. Holling (David), Frank (Barbara) Carr and Kimberly Dinkins; grandchildren, Marcus (Autumn) Lewis, Calvin (Kaytonia) Lewis, Gregory Lewis, Dr. B. Tenille (Daniel) Crawford, Tamika (Eugene) Dean, Monica S. Lewis, Karen Lewis, Matthew (Laurie) Lewis, Duane Lindsey II, Kathryn Lewis, Andrew Holling, Robert E. Dinkins, Juanita S. Dinkins, Sherita H. Dinkins, Ronald A. Dinkins, Jr.; 39 great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
