William Luther Ray Jr. was born on November 11, 1955 to William L. Ray and Fannie Louise Swanson-Ray in Cleveland, OH. He was the second eldest of six siblings. Growing up, William was well rooted in his faith and learned the ethics of hard work and a strong family bond. He was baptized around 1974 at A.O.H. Pentecostal Church of God with his siblings and a host of friends. William was joined in holy matrimony to Rubye Ray. Within that marriage they shared 3 beautiful children. William worked hard to meet every need of his family. He eventually remarried and shared 5 additional beautiful children with his spouse. He was a great father and provider. He will be remembered for his loving kindness, comical conversation, caring nature, strong will, beautiful singing voice, his grilling and good company.

William was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Kenneth Ray, his first wife, and son Robert Jackson.

To cherish his memory, he leaves behind his daughters; Celetra Ward (Jarrett Ward), Maeyana Williams, and Janain Williams (Marcus Williams). His sons Aundre Jackson (Breanne Wallace), Walter Williams (Tayana Williams), and Antoine Williams. His siblings Reginald Swanson (Frederica Swanson), Kathy Sawyer (John Sawyer), Keith Ray (Alethea Ray), and Gregory Ray. Grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends and family.
