William Leroy Wright, 75, of Euclid, Ohio, passed away on February 21, 2026, at the David Simpson Hospice House in Euclid, Ohio.

William was born on June 21, 1950, in Charlotte, North Carolina, to William Wright and Janie Mae Wright (nee Williams). He will be remembered for his sharp sense of humor, his gift for storytelling and conspiracy theories, and his love for animals and plants.

A 1970 graduate of John Hay High School, William was a talented percussionist and a gifted artist. He served his country in the U.S. Army as an Engineer with HHC 326th Engineer Battalion, 101st Airborne Division. During his service, William was stationed at Fort Campbell, KY and in Germany, receiving an honorable discharge in 1980.

After completing his military service, William attended Cleveland State University. He graduated from Great Lakes Technical Institute in 1989 and worked as a welder.

William is survived by his wife, Earline Johnson; his children, William Wright (Lisa), Wanda Jones (Carl), and Wendy Wright; and his grandchildren: Tavaughn, Davaughn, Chrishawn, Armelia, Richard Jr., Mariah, Myles, Carly, Shemya, and Gabryelle. He also leaves behind one great-grandson, Jalen Richardson; his siblings, Keith Wright, Steven Wright, Gloria Wright, and Jacqueline Dillard (William); and a host of nieces and nephews, including nephew Jordan Wright and great-nephew, William King, with whom he shared a very close bond.

William was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Wilma Jean Deskin (Ralph) and Janice Rumph (Hollister).
