William Meredith Kimbro, 80 years of age, passed away peacefully on July 29, 2026, in the city of Warrensville Heights, Ohio, at the Avenue Nursing Home.

William, affectionally called Mert, was born on October 25, 1945, to his loving parents the late William Elmore Kimbro and Virginia Goldie Kimbro. Williams parents raised him in a vibrant, bustling household as the nineth of thirteen siblings. William grew up in Cleveland, Ohio where he attended East Technical High School and made lasting memories during his formative years. He developed a lifelong love for music, dancing, singing, and watching western movies. William accepted Christ at an early age. In his younger years, he spent cherished time working various jobs with his older brother Rudolph (deceased). William was employed at a PresRite manufacture until an injury forced his retirement.

On July 28, 1996, he married his devoted wife of 30 years Barbara Kimbro, and they shared a beautiful life together. In 1996 William entered a new Christian experience and became a member of Mt. Zion Church in Oakwood. All the children in the neighborhood loved him, he was their go to guy, spending time giving them guidance and teaching them right from wrong, they called him Mr. Mert.

William spent two years in the Avenue rehabbing, family and friends came to visit him to lift his spirits but the one that stands out is the special relationship he had with his niece Tammy Ward. Tammy was a nurse who lived miles away from Mert but every single day without fail Tammy and Mert talked on the phone she made it her business to communicate with the Avenue nursing staff to ensure her uncle Mert was getting the best care possible. His memory will be kept alive by his three children, his son from a previous marriage Anthony Kimbro (Sanella), Demetrius Holliday (Bertha), Yolanda Holliday

He leaves behind four of his siblings who remain to continue the family legacy. Tyrone Kimbro (Sylvia), Rozetta Goggins (Bennie), Sylvia Brown (Michael) deceased, Lawanda Williams (Larry)

William is preceded in death by his parents and eight siblings Rudolph, Romona, Barbara Jean, Mary, Joan, Lionel, Marlene, and Larry. He leaves to cherish his memory nine great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, and close friends.
