William Robert Madden born the second child on February 10, 1936, in Millersburg, Kentucky to the late Colston V. Madden Sr., and Lillie Mae Baker. He had an older brother Colston Jr, and a younger brother Darryl, in which Colston went on and presided William, in death, December 30, 2021. Daryl still resides in Kentucky.
William was a farmer on his family’s land and accepted Christ at an early age. William, lovingly known as “Bobby” by family and friends, met and wedded February 20, 1957, to the love of his life the late Mattie Lee Madden who presided him, in death, January 26, 2022. They were married for 65 years and through this union a daughter was born, Brenda Lee Madden.
After the birth of their daughter, William moved his family to Cleveland, Ohio. William was a hard worker and worked at Ford Motor Company (Cleveland location) until he retired with 30+ years. He enjoyed building and making things with his hands and inside his garage was every tool a man could want and/or dream of. William loved his home and family — so much so, he took pride in building any and everything for his home. He built a patio deck, remodeled the kitchen, finished the basement, built doll houses, and the list goes on. William enjoyed working in his yard and he was a great hunter and fisherman. In his years of youth, William, and his brother (Colston) would travel to Kentucky for family visits, hunting, and fishing. And he enjoyed spending some leisure time at the Casinos. William was also a businessman and had his own lawn care service upon retirement, which he worked, faithfully, until he fell ill. William believed in not laying down and he fought until the final end of life.
On June 8, 2022, William took his last breath of this life and went on to be with his Lord in paradise. William “Bobby” will be greatly missed as he leaves to mourn his only child Brenda (Madden) Ledgyard; granddaughters, Tekora and Teairra; brother, Darryl; great-granddaughter, Carlia; sister-n-law, Sarah; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
