Willie “Mickey” Carmon, a devoted husband, loving father, and proud Marine, peacefully passed away on January 6th, 2025. Born on June 3, 1949, in Tupelo, Mississippi, Willie was the beloved son of Clarence Carmon and Marie Miller. Raised by his grandparents, Phillip, and Willie Jane Cunningham. Willie attended elementary school in Mississippi before moving to Cleveland, Ohio, at the age of 14. He later graduated from East Technical High School, where he excelled in academics and formed a love for computers.
After high school, Willie and his best friend Johnny enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, bravely serving his country during the Vietnam War. His time in the military exemplified his courage, loyalty, and dedication to protecting others. Following his honorable service, Willie pursued a career as a computer programmer, where his analytical mind and determination allowed him to thrive in a field he loved.
He cherished being a devoted father to his children: Anthony, Michael & Kimberly Carmon & Bonus Sons to Shawn Jackson and Eric Wall. He also enjoyed being a beloved Dog dad to their dog Sugar.
Willie’s greatest joy was spending time with his beloved wife of 32 years, Marietta Carmon. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and treasured memories. They enjoyed making memories watching the sun set by the water, taking small road trips, and just enjoying each other’s company. Willies’ world revolved around loving his wife.
In his free time, Willie enjoyed watching football and playing computer games, hobbies he absolutely loved as well as talking to his sister Faye on the phone. He was known for his strong personality, no nonsense demeanor that family grew to love, as well as his generous kind spirit. Willie shared his wisdom and kindness with all who knew him.
Willie leaves to cherish his memory, His beloved wife Marietta, his children, and his sister, Yvette Lyles (Robert). Bonus sons Shawn Jackson and Mark Wall He also leaves behind his loving Mother-in-law Lois Wall (Joseph) Loving sisters-in-laws Vicky, Lojuanah, Cassandra (Dre), and Keisha (Bee); brothers-in-law Robert Lyles, Tyrone Dunn nieces Danielle Wall, Lorene Wall, Lakeisha Wall, LyShae Cross (Meech), Joann Cleveland, and Briana Washington; and nephews James Richardson III and Mark Wall.
