Willie Davis III, age 49, passed away on January 26, 2023.
Willie Davis III was born on August 3, 1973 to Willie Davis Jr and Linda Wade at the old Forest City Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio. Willie has two sisters, Rachelle “Shelly” and Monica.
Willie attended Warrensville City Schools and later John Marshall. After school, Willie began his life’s journey as a young adult cosmetologist and barber. He loved entertaining his clients while performing barbering services and was affectionately known as “Willie D”. He began his trade early in life, cutting hair for friends and clients, while he was in high school in Warrensville Hts. His popularity as an excellent barber resulted in his mother, Linda, having to post a sign on the backdoor of their home indicating which days and hours his clients were permitted to come to their home to have their hair cut! Willie had a natural God-given talent for cutting hair for adults and children and was creative with intricate designs upon request.
Willie married Lakisha Barrino (stepson, Romel) and to this union three children were born; Willie Davis IV, Mariyah Davis, and Makayla Davis. Willie accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior years ago, and mainly attended services at Second Calvary Baptist Church in Cleveland, Ohio. Additionally, Willie attended services at The Word Church in Warrensville Hts., Ohio.
Willie was a fun-loving son, brother, father, nephew, cousin, and friend. He dearly loved his three children and would do anything in his power for them. He was the kind of father that would make-up a scary story to tell his children and would then become scared himself! He could make you laugh with his antics that were usually accompanied by colorful sound-effects and replays of something that he experienced, observed, or imagined. One of his strongest desires was to entertain and make people laugh. Willie was a gifted athlete and enjoyed baseball, bowling, and football. Like his parents, He loved professional sports. He was an avid fan of the Cleveland Browns, Cavaliers, and Indians/Guardians. Willie was the life of the party when he attended Cavs games and entertained many fans in the sections where he sat. In addition to his many talents, he was a great dancer! He was even part of a dance group that performed at various clubs around Cleveland! He was also an excellent photographer and shared many of his photographs on Facebook, where he had over 5,000 followers. Additionally, he was a very good cook. He had signature dishes where he would creatively combine ingredients to come up with something very tasty!
Willie had so many friends. Wherever he went, he made friends. It didn’t matter whether he was on the Eastside, Westside, or down in Columbus, Ohio. He was definitely a memorable person who loved to be around family and people, and they loved him too! Will and his antics will certainly be missed. The memories of all the fun times will bring smiles and laughter for years to come.
Preceding Willie III in death was his loving father, Willie, Jr.; his paternal grandparents, Willie Davis, Sr. and McGrath Davis and maternal grandmother, Peggy Wade.
