Maxine A Yancy left a message on January 29, 2021:
My dear Willie James was such a good buddy during our childhood on Palmer Street in Central Akron. Actually, Willie was my first "boyfriend" when I was about 7 or 8 years old. His mother "Miss White" and all of her family were just wonderful neighbors and like family to me. I pray that your family remains strong and safe. Blessings to them all; Louise, now deceased, Irene and Ida Mae. Willie's sisters were my sunshine every day. I loved to see and talk with them, and hear Louise say "Hi Maxine" as she passed my house. Louise was a teen so she didn't play all of the games that the rest of us played. Irene would call me..."Maxine can you come out to play?" I would answer yes and off we were playing hide and seek, green light go, hopscotch, or baseball. Thank God for my life with them. I am who I am because of my beloved grandparents, Miss White, all of her children and our time on Palmer Street. Blessings to all and stay safe.
