Willie Lee Garden, Sr. “Leeboy” or “Bones”, 85 of Akron, OH passed away on Thursday, April 4, 2019. He was born on March 5, 1934 in Ansley, Alabama to the late J. B. And Lucy L. Gordon, Sr,.
As a young man, Willie worked many years in construction and then retired from Firestone Tire and Rubber Co. after nearly 30 years of service.
Willie was preceded in death by his son Willie Lee Garden, Jr.; brothers, Leroy Gordon, William Gordon, Sr., and sister Zepherlean Tucker.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 65 years, Evelyn Garden; children, Mary Nelson, Evelyn (Don) Franklin, and Henry Garden, all of Akron, OH; brothers, J.B. Gordon, Jr., Louis (Debbie) Garden, Howard (Gloria) Garden, Allen (Jacqueline) Gordon; sisters, Cora M. Perkins, Loretta Herring, Patricia Davis; sister-in-law, Vera Gordon, all of Akron, OH; grandchildren, Sim Graham III, Lacretia Hite of Akron, OH , Pearllisa Graham of Barberton, OH , Kristen (Terna) Nande of Washington D.C., Lauren Franklin and Brandon Franklin of Akron, OH; 15 great-grandchildren, 8 great-great-grandchildren and a host of other family and friends.
