Willie V. Dowdell, born March 30th, 1978, in Cleveland, Ohio, went home with the Lord on Friday, March 21st, 2025.

He leaves a legacy of his own in his children and his music. Willie was an amazing father, son, brother, and friend. Music was always at the forefront for him, and he was extremely talented. He was a decent cook too (just don’t tell him I said so, lol). He was just as devoted to his mom, Valerie, as he was to his kids and had been caring for her these last few years, even while battling his own health issues. To remember him is to remember to laugh and smile through it all—or let his “heart bleed through his pen.”

He leaves in his legacy his children: Destiny (aka Princess), Willie II (aka Lil Man), Alexianna (aka his Squeaky), and stepson Drew; grandchildren: Sophia (Destiny), Sahmi (Destiny), and grandbaby-to-be, Nikko (Willie II and Trish). He also leaves his mother, Valerie Dowdell; stepdad, Anthony Gosha; brothers, Anthony and Howard; and nephews Howard and Patrick, whom he raised. Also mourning his loss are his children’s mothers, Bobbie Nelson (mother of Destiny and Willie II) and Laura Price (mother of Alexianna), along with a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins. We rejoice in knowing we all experienced love from him and, most of all, saw his love for his Heavenly Father.

Flowers are greatly appreciated, and donations to his children are also welcome and appreciated in lieu of flowers.
