Mrs. Wilma Borden was born august 7, 1934 in Greensboro, AL to the late Billy and Nancy Williams. She was the third of sixteen (16) children, eleven (11) have preceded her in death (Juanita, Robert, Billy Jr., Eddie Mae, Annie Ruth, Patricia, Leroy, Joe, Dwight, Linda and Melissa).
Wilma confessed Christ at an early age and most recently attended Bethel Baptist Church (now, Church on the Heights) in Cleveland Heights, until her illness limited her attendance.
After graduating from the Hale County Training School, Wilma continued her education at Alabama State and acquired a graduate degree from Baldwin Wallace College. Her love of children dedicated her to teaching. Wilma retired from the Cleveland Board of Education following a 33-year teaching career.
Wilma was married to the love of her life, Prime Borden (deceased) for 23 years.
In retirement, Wilma enjoyed travel, casinos and most of all her family. Her nieces and nephews will always remember her encouragement as she found joy in all the love they showered upon her.
Now at rest, her job here is done.
Wilma leaves to cherish her memory, three sisters: Gwendolyn Hill, Greensboro, AL; Veronica Coleman (Robert) and Annette Horton (Anthony), Sawyerville, AL; two brothers: Colander Williams, Greensboro; and Tyrone Williams (Linda), Hampton, GA. Three sisters-in-law Fannie Williams, Cleveland, OH; Patricia Williams, Pontiac, MI; and, brother-in-law S.L. Willson, Phoenix, AZ. In addition, two stepchildren Phillip Cole, Amherst, NY and Dianne Morton, Grand Prairie, TX; and, special nephew and niece, Aaron Michael and Grennetta Taylor. She will be forever remembered by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
