Mrs. Wynona Armstrong Willis was the fifth child of the late William & Gertrude Estelle Armstrong. She was born April 28, 1939 in Minter, Alabama.
While still living in Alabama, she and her family joined the Campbell Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Church. It was there where she accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior.
At the age of 12 her family relocated to Cleveland, Ohio. The family joined Saint John African Methodist Episcopal Church in 1953.
She attended East Technical High School where she graduated in 1958. She was in the marching band and played the clarinet. She also attended Cleveland Community College where she majored in business Education in Cleveland, Ohio.
She was employed at Crobaugh Laboratories for many years and later it was sold to John Herron, and it became Herron Testing Laboratories in Independence, Ohio where she retired in 2005.
She was a faithful member of United Missionary Baptist Church under the pastorage of the late Rev. Karious McDaniel. She later joined Pilgrim Church of Christ in 1983 under the spiritual leadership of Pastor James A. Maye. She was a member of the gospel choir and a Sunday School teacher.
Wynona was preceded in death by her parents William and Gertrude Armstrong; siblings Maggie Oatts, Joseph, Henry, Naomi, William, Harold Armstrong; Stanley Brooks and Leanna McArther.
Wynona Armstrong Willis gained her heavenly wings on Monday, July 1. 2024 at 5:15 a.m. at the Northfield Village Nursing Home at the age of 85. She leaves to cherish her memory her husband Willie Albert Willis, three children: Robert Anthony, Darryl Clinton (Brenda) and Kimberly Estelle Reed. One sibling Melvin Johnson (Theresa), sister-in-law VernaDean Armstrong, wife of her deceased brother Harold Armstrong, two grandchildren, two great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, church members and many cherished friends
