Winston Bushell, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, was born on September 16, 1945, in Trinidad and Tobago. He peacefully transitioned from this life on February 13, 2026, at 9:55 p.m., leaving behind a legacy of love, strength, and devotion to family.
Winston carried the vibrant spirit and cultural richness of Trinidad and Tobago with him throughout his life. He was a man known for his quiet strength, warm heart, and unwavering dedication to those he loved. His life was defined by hard work, resilience, and a deep commitment to family, values that he instilled in generations that follow him.
On March 23, 1971, Winston was united in marriage to the love of his life, Elenor Elizabeth Belgrave in St. Croix Virgin Island. Their union was built on enduring love, partnership, and faith, creating a foundation that sustained their family for many years. In 1973 Winston and his new wife moved to Brooklyn New York where he held his first job Lord and Tailors Department Store 5th Avenue New York. After several years he when back to school and learned the trade of welding.
In 1978 he joined Local 580 Union where he traveled around the US doing contracting jobs. After 10 years he left Local 580 and started his own business Boco Development in 1996 to 2004, in 2006 Alo Development was born, and their he retired at the age of 62.
Because of his love for the Caribbean culture, he joins Sesame Flyers Incorporated in 1990’s which he was a active member until the day he relocated to Cleveland Ohio in July 2025. Even then you could hear him talking to members of what was happening. His contribution and presents would be missed greatly.
Winston will be remembered for his wisdom, gentle presence, and the love he freely gave to family and friends. His life was a testament to perseverance, faith, and the importance of family unity. Those who knew him will forever cherish his guidance, his stories, and the comfort of his steady presence.
He was a proud and caring father to his son, Darnell Bushell, and a devoted grandfather whose joy was reflected in the lives of his cherished grandchildren: Gabriel Bushell (22), Joshia Bushell (16), and Za’Riyah Bushell (7). Each of them held a special place in his heart, and he delighted in watching them grow and flourish. Winston leaves behind his sister Kathlene Bushell-Peterson, Joan Bushell, Pearl Thomas. His brother, Charles Bushell, Keith Bushell, Knoly Bushell. He leaves a ton of nieces and nephews, Patrice Grant, Joanne Grant-Jackson, Orlean Grant-Jones, Tomika Cockrell Hung, Rosemary Seaton, Sidney, Charlene Bushell-Peele, Paula Thomas, Burnis, Kizzy , Brian Bushell, Bert Bushell, Brent Thomas, Kenneth Thomas, Llewellyn Grant, Orlando Grant, Carlos Grant
Though our hearts are heavy with loss, we take comfort in the memories he leaves behind and the love that continues to surround his family. His legacy will live on through the lives he touched and the family he so deeply loved.
