Winston Robert Matthew Jonathan Wright was born to the union of Juanita Evelyn Wright and Joseph Nathan Wright on May 12, 1974, in Cleveland, Ohio. He was a bright and creative child who was able to recreate drawings of any animated character at just the young age of 4.
Winston was a proud graduate of St. Peter Chanel High School where he was encouraged to pursue his passion for drawing. Upon graduation Winston went on to attend Ashland University, majoring in art and music production. At Ashland Winston’s love for music began to supersede his love for art. Winston learned to play various instruments and enjoyed singing in a R&B group with three classmates.
After college Winston was enlisted in The United States Marine Corps where he served as a private until he fell ill. Winston then went on to work for Graco Technologies where he was responsible for maintaining the safety of child passengers. During that time, Winston took the initiative to ensure that all of his relatives had appropriate car seats for his nieces and nephews. His kind heart made him an integral part of his family and Winston was always that uncle that would send cards for any and every occasion.
Winston was an avid bowler, video game enthusiast, and extreme WWE fan. If WrestleMania was coming on, he would cut his visit short to make sure he made it home on time to watch it. If you were lucky enough though, he would sit down and watch a Marvel movie with you because Winston, affectionately known as “Win” enjoyed spending quality time with his family.
Winston accepted our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on September 1, 2024, as a devoted community servant and faithful member of Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church in Twinsburg, Ohio. He was a member of the Voices of Triumph Choir where he let his beautiful tenor voice manifest his faith. Winston spent his life making a difference touching countless people through his selfless acts of kindness. His passion for service was matched only by his infectious smile and warm heart.
Winston was preceded in death by his parents, Juanita and Johnathan Wright, and brothers Derek, Richard, Maurice, and Joseph. He leaves to cherish his memories his siblings Deborah, Pamela, LaTisha (Victor), Earnest, Johnathan, Patricia (Sam), Tracy, Curtis, Portay (William), Felicia, Jovita, Antonio, Sharonda, Dartanian, and Desiree. Winston is also survived by a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles.
Winston was a man of strong faith, a man of charity. His light shone brightly, and his legacy will continue to live on through his family and friends.
