Yvette Marie Hopkins was born in Akron, Ohio on October 22nd, 1961, to her loving mother Gail Hopkins and Father Charles Forney. Sadly, she was called upon by the Most High on Wednesday, June 15, 2022.
Yvette attended Goodyear middle school and graduated from East High School. She loved to cook and feed you, sing and dance, and was known for her exemplary writing skills. She had an infectious personality that could brighten up any room with her smile. No matter where she went, she was the life of the party with her keen sense of humor and love for people. She had a way of making you feel comfortable in her truth by being authentically herself, no matter what the setting.
Yvette loved to spend time with family and friends and prided herself by bringing everyone together in what was never a dull moment.
She was preceded in death by her father, Charles Forney; siblings, Micheal Edward Forney, and Joyce Lynn Forney/Lee.
Yvette was survived by her loving son and daughter, Jermaine Baker, and Taylor Fortson; grandson, Leo Drone III; mother, Gail Hopkins; niece, Tara Powell; nephew, Karlton Hopkins, Jr.; siblings, Karlton Hopkins (Jacqueline Morris), Ricardo Angelo Forney, Daniel Alexander Forney, Alisa Hope Forney, Faith Jeanne Forney-Shipp, and John Evol Forney; as well as a host of family and friends.
