Zell Lasley was born on April 4 1935 to Ida Mae and Clifton Hearn in Byhalia, Mississippi. She died on April 26, 2018 at the side of her daughter, Marilyn Lasley after a long illness.
Zell was wonderful with a warm and sweet disposition always carrying a
bright smile and eager to help in any way that she could. She was patient, understanding and a sweet lady.
During her College years, she met the love of her life, Paris Lasley at Rusk College in Holly Springs , Mississippi.
Paris Lasley, AKA Bud took her hand in marriage. From this union she had 2 daughters, Roselyn Price Kennedy and Marilyn Lasley.
Upon having her first child, the family moved to Cleveland and conceived her 2nd daughter, Marilyn.
After several years of raising her children, she accepted a position working in a
Retail Dress Department store at Red Robin. She found retail to be rewarding in helping
others look good. She then moved to Petries’ Departmrnt Store; this was a boutique
store and environment. It was where she felt a since of commitment in supporting women.
Zell was skillful and loved the retail side of the business and found a wonderful opportunity
working for J. C. Penney at Richmond Mall. She rose from Retail Representative to Manager. The folks that came in contact with her were impressed with her image and style. She was very fashionable and meticulous about her appearance. She worked for J. C. Penny for over twenty years through out her career she fostered love, friendship and the organization recognized her efforts even when she was ask to return out of retirement.
Zell loved the Lord, and enjoyed life and various activities and she used to play basket ball, but her heart was with bowling where she participated in 2 leagues at Ambassador and Twin Lanes. Many memories prevail of her cooking, going to casinos, travelling to Hawaii, Vegas and other spots were some of the highlights in her life. A real people person enjoying dinners/parties and the love of her family and friends. No matter what she was going through in her life, she always had a big smile for you.
Zell precedes in death, by her husband, Paris Lasley, (Deceased), Daughters: Roselyn Price Kennedy, Richmond Hts., Marilyn Lasley, East Cleveland, Grandson: Bernard Price, Cleveland, One Great Great Granddaughter: Icis Price, Chakerea McClaine, Sister: Faye Harvell, Chicago, Nephews: Everett Harvell and Greg Harvell, (Deceased), Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews and a Host of Family and Friends.
So go now my precious one and take your rest as you glide on the pedals of heaven.
