Zenebech “Zenny” Sahle passed away on the afternoon of July 26, 2022. She was born on August 31, 1960 (Gregorian calendar) in the municipality of Debre Zeit, Ethiopia to Mestawet Aboye and Sahle Abraham.

Zenny was one of 9 children in the family and was a leading caregiver to her siblings throughout her life. Starting at an early age, she excelled academically and was very driven to achieve her goals in life at all costs. She attended Tenagne Work High School in Ethiopia and graduated in 1975. Following high school, Zenny began working for the Ethiopian Air Force around the age of 18. While both working in the Ethiopian Air Force, Zenny and Asrat met in the late 70s. On May 1, 1979, they embarked upon a marriage in Debre Zeit, Ethiopia. Asrat and Zenny had an incredible sense of responsibility and were committed to their family. Together, they raised two children: Merron A. Teferra and Fitsum A. Teferra. Zenny, then went on to work for the Ethiopian Food Corporation for many years where she built cherished, lifelong friendships which have lasted till this very day. In 1995, the family had the opportunity to come to the U.S. where they began their new journey.

If you had the pleasure of knowing Zenny, you know she was a strong-willed, vibrantly charismatic spirit with a kind heart. She went through so much in her life and never surrendered to any afflictions, struggles, or heart breaks. She always persevered with the greatest of hopes and provided for her family no matter what it took. She fought a long battle, however, she is now truly at peace in the presence of God.

Zenny is survived by her daughter and family back home in Ethiopia.
